Swimming Carnivals 2023

School carnivals are without a doubt one of the top highlights of the year. The House spirit, friendly rivalry, good sportsmanship, participation, and outstanding performances make for a brilliant day for all involved, girls, staff and parents alike.

The 2023 Senior School Swimming Carnival, at Sydney Olympic Park, was a day of high energy with terrific leadership on display by our House Captains and excellent engagement with girls from Years 7 to 11. The Utility Pool was buzzing with girls keen to maximise their participation points, in the hope of lifting the House Swimming trophy aloft at the conclusion of the Carnival. Meanwhile, in the Competition Pool, the girls were making history with nine new School records being set, demonstrating the depth of talent in our swimming program. Congratulations to the following girls on their outstanding achievements:

The high level of performance across each age group was brilliant to witness, making for some very exciting racing. Well done to our Individual Age Group Champions:

Junior – Chloe, Year 7
Intermediate – Alexandra, Year 9
Senior – Charlotte, Year 11

The overall point score was a hotly contested affair with the lead changing a few times throughout the day. On the back of some very exciting relays to finish the day, the top three overall were:

1st: Messiter
2nd: Hooke
3rd: Ralston

Fast forward one week, and it was time for the Junior School Swimming Carnival at Lane Cove Aquatic and Fitness Centre. Despite being a significantly smaller cohort, the energy amongst our younger athletes was infectious, and their smiles, good sportsmanship and enthusiasm to give anything a go so wonderful to witness.

Not to be outdone by their Senior School counterparts, the Junior School girls were making history of their own, with seven new records being set. Congratulations to the following girls:
