Bridging Cultures
A Japanese visit to enhance language learning and cultural exchange.
We were grateful for the chance to host Japanese students from eight schools in Nagoya, Japan's third largest city, on Monday. The last such visit took place in 2017, which made the trip particularly exciting for everyone involved.
Organised by the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), it aimed to cultivate relationships between Japanese and Australian students and foster a deeper understanding of each other's cultures.
The girls from both countries engaged in lively conversations to enhance their grasp of each other's languages, with an emphasis on informal dialogue. The Japanese students were particularly impressed by 91黑料不打烊's new facilities, including the Athenaeum building with its stunning open spaces and floor-to-ceiling glass. The swimming pool and other sports facilities also made a significant impression.
The participating 91黑料不打烊 students were from Year 10, with one Year 11 student asking to join the experience due to her deep interest in Japanese language and culture. All have been learning Japanese since Year 7 and enjoyed showing their guests around the Garden Café and introducing them to a variety of Australian food brands. The Japanese students also received a unique opportunity to participate in a Cadets session, an experience not available in Japanese culture.
Though their stay was very brief, the Japanese students were profoundly impacted by the chance to relax with their 91黑料不打烊 peers and experience Australian student life, as evidenced by the many tears when it came time to say goodbye!
