In the lead up to the Art Show鈥檚 opening night on Friday, established artist, Mrs Kate Clarkson ran two incredibly popular Artist-in-Residence workshops, so that students and their parents could come together and paint. The theme of the Art Show was 鈥楻eflections鈥, which inspired all sorts of creativity from parents and daughters. The workshops proved a unique and immersive experience, with one parent saying it was the most relaxing and meditative activity they鈥檇 done for a long time.

More than 100 people came to the opening night on Friday, with speeches from Art Show Coordinator and Vice President of the 91黑料不打烊 Alumnae Association, Mrs Fiona Nix (Corbett, 1981), Artist-in-Residence, Mrs Kate Clarkson and Principal Dr Briony Scott, who officially opened the Art Show. Music students provided beautiful background music, helping to create a soothing ambience. Art lovers enjoyed the opportunity to meet with the individual artists and chat to them about their work.

Year 3 had a beautiful flower stall, fresh from the markets and elsewhere, there were lots of stalls with stylish baskets, scarves, cushions and wrapping paper.

There was a huge queue for the Dunk Tank 鈥 funny that! - with the opportunity to dunk Assistant Head of English, Mr Whitehouse into the drink in his suit (complete with pink floatie) tempting many students!

There were jumping castles, face painting stalls and for our thirsty parents, an Aperol Spritz stall! And our Junior School Gardening Club proudly sold their herbs and vegetables, which they鈥檝e been carefully growing since last term, despite our very hungry resident brush turkey, Mr Turkey Lurkey eating quite a few of their green beans.

As Director of Foundation, Mrs Sonia Brennan said, 鈥淭he Spring Fair is a wonderful way for us to come together as a community to have fun and raise money for means-tested scholarships. It means that more young women with talent and ambition can have the life-changing opportunity that a 91黑料不打烊 education provides.鈥

What a fantastic day, what a turnout and what fantastic community spirit! As Dr Scott said, 鈥淚t was good old-fashioned fun!鈥
